We rcport new reflectance results in the plasmon region of orthorhombicTaS3 (single crystal) through the Peierls transition temperature and near theplasmon region of monoclinic NbSe. as a function of temperature. The opticalspectra yield the dielectric constant due to core electrons, mass density andelectron relaxation time. Furthermore, we discuss the modification of one electronexcitations and plasmon collective excitations through charge density wave(CDW) transitions and assign these anomalies in TaS3 to its normal-incom-menstzrate (215:1-10 K) and inco(l70f20K) transi-Lions in TaS.. In NbSe., no modifications are observed through the normal-incommensurate CDW transition temperature (140 K).
