Decay profiles of Mn" photolurninescence in Cdt .rIVIn.Te (r:0.6) have been investigatedunder various excitation and observation energies. From the analysis of tin?e resolved spectra,we find that the excited states of d-d transition relax to lower energy by the amotunt of 5 uneVto 40 meV on the time scale of' -to ps and that the non-exponential decay profiles of lVIn"PL are understood as a result of the energy relaxation. At 2 K, the relaxation time underthe lower energy excitation than the peak of the excitation spectrum (x2.2 eV) is x40 7rs andthat of the high energy excitation is xl5 ps. With increasing tetnperature, the relaxation timedecreases. These behaviors explain well previotrs results of site selected and non-site selectedphotoluminescence obtained by CXV measureraaents.
