A new and simple elliptical Abel inversion for calculating spatial distributionsof electron density from elliptical shaped plasma is presented. In this numericalmethod inversion matrix elements were calculated analytically and examinedusing a test function. This method was applied to an end-on holographic inter-ferogram of a $-pinch plasma for the first time.
