A Landau theory of the D:?-D3?-Dgj; successive phase transitions has beendeveloped and applied to the successive phase transitions in the layered perovskitecompound (C.H,NH.)FeC1.. Characteristic features of the Brillouin scattering andthe ultrasonic results in the phases I, II, III could be well explained. The dielectricanomaly at the II-III phase transition could be also explainecl.
