The collective excitation modes in an alkali metal intercaTated transition metaldichalcogenide, e.g., Li.TiS., consisting of alternating layers of electrons andalkali ions are investigated. Two kinds of structure factors are introduced. Oneis concerned with the structure of the same kind of carriers and the other withthe structure or a different kind or carriers. The obtained dispersion equation hasthe same form as that of the electron-hole system in type II semiconductor super-lattices. The theory suggests the possibility of existence of acoustic plasma modes.
