Exciton Selection Rules in the Polarized Resonant Raman Scattering by LO Phonons in InSe

The polarization dependence of the Raman scattering by LO phonons has beenmeasured in the layer compound InSe under the experimental cc>ndition that photonenergies of the scattered light are resonant with the A-exciton states. The Ramantensors of all lines have only xx and yy components, showing that the A-excitontransition is allowed for E Lc but forbidden for E??c. This result gives an evidence foithe "quasicubic" band model proposed previously by the present authors.
