Gamma-ray angular distribution, lixtear polarization, Doppler-shift attenuationand y-7 coincidence measurements have been made in the "Ti(i, n7)"Cr reaction.In addition, excitation functions h.ave?been measured in the "V(p,n7)"Crreaction. A total of 115 7 rays have been assigned as transitions in "Cr, and 56excited levels have been identified in "Cr below 4.5 MeV. Previously reporteddecay schemes of "Cr levels have been c:onsiderably modified. All the negativeparity levels in "Cr below 2.8 MeV can be classified into two groups : those whichbelong to a strongly deformed 1/2- bapd, and those which belong to the sphericalf-77. configurations. Electromagnetic transitions between these two groups oflevels are hindered. NUCLEAR REACTIONS "Ti(a, ny), f=8.08 MeV; measured o(E, 0,),y linear polarization, DSA, 77-coin. "V(p, n7)"Cr, E=3.95-4.65 Men;measured o(E, E, 0,). 'j'Cr levels d.educed J', T.7z, branching ratios,mining ratios, B([2), B(Ml). Enriched target, Ge(Li) detectors.' l
