The anuular distributions for the (r>, d) transitions leadinu to the 4.30-Mev(5/2-) and 6.48-]VeV (7/2-) states in "C, 2.05-MeV (7/2") state in "Mg, 2.16-MeV (7/2") state in "Si, 3.64-MeV (9/2-) state in "Ca, and 1.08-MeV (9/2-)and 1.56-MeV (11/2-) states in "Cr have been measured at E.=52 MeV. Theyare forbidden witlain the frame work of simple shell-model configurations andone-step DWBA theory. All the angular distribution shapes are satisfactorilyreproduced by CCBA calculations in which inelastic couplings both in the initialand final channels are considered. The CCBA calculations also give the crosssection maenitudes reasonabJv well; calculated values are within 30% of theexperimental values except two cases. The calculated cross sections for the 9/2=state of "Ca and the I 1 /2 - state of "Cr are roughly a factor of two too large.Possible origins of such discrepancies are discussed.[ NUCLEAR REACTIONS "C, "Mg, "Si, "Ca, "Crop, d), E=51.93 ]L MeV, measured4IIlo(0). Optxcal model, DWBA and CCBA calculatuons.
