Two-dimensional Stokes flow past a Joukowski profile is studied and constantsof equivalent ellipse are determined. Investigation of the stream function for thecase of a circular arc with central angle 2p shows that twin eddies are attachedto the concave side if the flow is perpendicular to the chord of the arc. On theother hand, in the case without angle of incidence there is no separation for0$/7</7. -65.87'. For fi>p. an eddy region appears on the concave side andfor 180'>/7>80.12' this region fills up the concave side.
