The slow Motion of a Small Sphere in an incompressible viscous fluicl outside of acircular cylizader is studied on the basis of Stokes equations of motic?n. The forceon the sphere translating in any direction has been calculated upto tlte first ordereffect of the boundary. An interesting result is that the wall correction factor ksatisfies the iraequality kn<k.<k, where the suffices r, 0 and z denote respectivelythe direction of motion in cyliradrical coordimtates with the central. axis of t1te?cylinder as the z axis. For large radial distances r, from the axis, they are found tobe proportional to 1/(r. log r(,).
