The axially symmetric fiow problem due to a stokeslet situated along the symmetry axis through a circular hole in a rigid plane wall is examined. Concise expression for the solution in terms of the Green function is obtained. The singularity in the solution of the basic equation presented by Davis et al. (J. Fluid Mech. 103 (1981) 183) is pointed out and removed with a slight modification of their results.
