Landau's laminar model is generalized to the case of a plate with finite thicknessand under an inclined magnetic field. The shape of laminar depends on a charac-teristic parameter A /d besides the inclination angles, where J is the surface energyparameter between the superconducting and the normal phase and d is thicknessof the plate. The dependence on A /d explains a discrepansy between Landau andSharvin's and Chien and Farrell's experimental results as for surface broadeningof normal regions in a superconducting plate under an inclined magnetic field.
