Gutzwiller Projection and Instabilities of Flux State and Chiral Spin State

The stability of the chiral spin state, which was )croposed fccr the two-dimensionalfrustrated antiferromagnet on the square lattice, is critically examined by taking thelocal constraint into account. It is shown that the chiral spin state is relatively high inenergy, suggesting it to be unstable. The instability ccf the flux state against the antiferromagnetic order is also demonstrated in this connection.
