The irateraction between u'aearest-neighbor Ce tons raaediated by conduction electrons is carefullyanalyzed for CeB(, by ftrlly taking irato accotrtut the sytmzmetry connecting two Ce tons as well asthe nature of [3 xvaxze ftrract,ions. It is slaowra tlaat tlae interactiot? Hatniltonian resultittg froraa tlueanalysis has a sinuple form containing a very few p;tranaueters becattse of constraints dtre to thesyznznetry. It is concluded quite generally fro?ta the interactior'n Hamiltonian tltat when the A Fquadrupole-qtmadrttpole interaction of' [5-type is strorag, the AF octtrpole-octtrpole interactioua ofT... type is eqtrally strorag. Thtts the preser'nt arraalysis gives a strong support to the irnportanceof f... octtrpoles in CeB5.
