Anisotropic Conductivity in a Decagonal Quasicrystal of Al_<70>Ni_<15>Co_<15>

Electrical resistivities have been measured from 4.2 K to 300 K for single-graineddecagonal quasicrystals of Al,.Ni.,Co.,. The conductivity is quite anisotropic; the re-sistivity along the c-axis (crystalline direction) is 50 qQcm at 4.2 K and has a positivetemperature coefficient, whereas that along a direction perpendicular to the c-axis(quasicrystalline direction) is as high as - 1200 qQcm at 4.2 K and also has a positivetemperature coefficient in spite of the high resistivity.[electrical resistivity, anisotropic conductivity, quasicrystal, decagonal phase, ll Al-Ni-Co alloyI
