We conjecture the temperature dependence of the correlation length 4 of the spin-spin correlation function<S;S;>in spin-172 alternating Heisenberg-,X'} antifer-romagnets. We use the phase representation and-1.he self-consistent harmonic approx-imation to evaluate<5 ;Sf). The correlation length<' as a furtction of the temperaturehas a peak at T?e., where e. is the energy gap between the ground state and the firstexcited state.
