Bound states of two magnons in a linear antiferromagnet with anisotropic exchange interactions are treated by means of the two-time Green function. At sufficiently strong anisotropy (near the Ising limit) there exist two bound states (call α-β magnon bound states) below the free two-magnon band for arbitrary total wave number K. As the anisotropy decreases one merges into the band and the other goes down and terminates at the energy of the ground state. Another doubly degenerated bound states (α-α or β-β magnon bound states) always exist above the band. The results are slightly different from those by the spin-wave method, in particular in the vicinity of the isotropic Heisenberg limit. The existence of α-β magnon bound states in an isotropic linear Hesenberg antiferromagnet cannot be concluded at the present stage.
