A V-wave state W2lV(16 ftrnction witla rautrltiplicative correlation factors for the Htrbbard t'rrodelis investigated using a variational 1VIonte Carlo metlaod. Eraaploying a simple Gtrtzwiller-BCSxvave function as a starting wave ftrnction, xve consider iraajcroved waxze ftrnctions with off-diagonalcorrelatioua factors. The 1VIonte Carlo siutatrlations are carried otrt on a sqttare lattice with size10 x 10 for U : 8 and next raearest neighbor transfer t' : -0.09. The ground-state energy isevaluated frona an extrapolation. Otrr xvave ftrnct.ions shoxv that pair correlation furactions areezalaanced for 21 negative valtre of t'.
