The Time Evolution of Unstable Particles : General and Mathematical Physics

概要

We study the time evolution of an unstable particle which decays through a weak interaction. We conclude that, in general, the "survival" probability of any unstable particle contains a "new" mode inversely proportional to a certain power of time, apart from the well-known exponential decay mode which is overwhelmingly dominant. We discuss briefly this new decay mode.
