Fractal Dimension in JACEE Events : Particles and Fields

The JACEE events are analyzed to examine whether one particle pseudorapidity distributions indicate fractal structure or not. Those events are analyzed by means of a modified version of the method of length proposed by Higuchi, and of the maximum entropy method in the power spectrum analysis. We reduce that the fractal dimensions are 1.80〜1.95 in Ca-C, 1.50〜1.65 in Si-AgBr, and 1.60〜1.75 in Fe-Pb event. Our analysis suggests that one particle pseudorapidity distributions of the JACEE events have self-similarities, and the complexity of the distributions may be classified by the fractal dimension.
