Bose-Einstein Correlations of K-Mesons and Their Production Mechanism in S+Pb Reactions

• The correlation data for identical K-mesons produced in S+Pb collisions at 200 GeV/c by NA44 Collaboration are analysed by theoretical formulae with the long-range correlation.It is found that interaction range (the root mean square (rms)) of K^-K^- is smaller than that of K^+K^+: R_<rms>(K^-K^-)≈(5.3〜6.2 fm)<R_<rms>(K^+K^+)≈(6.9〜8.0 fm). This suggests that in nuclear collisions the anti u-quarks are produced in smaller space region than the u-quarks.
