Lepton and Baryon Number Asymmetry of the Universe and Primordial Nucleosynthesis : Astrophysics and Relativity

Primordial abundances of light elements produced in a universe with a weak lepton asymmetry are revised by using newly measured reaction rates for ^7Li and D. We found that the predicted abundances of D, T, ^3He, ^4He and ^7Li are consistent with the observational bounds on the primordial abundances when baryon to photon ratio and e-lepton asymmetry satisfy the bounds; 3.0×10^<-10> < η < 1×10^<-9>, -2.3×10^<-2> < L_e > 2.1×10^<-2>, for N_ν =3, provided that the asymmetry of other type of leptons is the same order with L_e or less than L_e. The light element abundances are consistent with observations even for N_ν≧5 if e-leptons have a weak asymmetry of order 〜10^<-2>. The present status of the comparison between the predicted primordial abundances of the light elements and observational constraints on them is also discussed.
