We present a renormalization group theory for critical dynamics in a form suitable for treating problems far from equilibrium by dealing with the generating functional for (one-particle-irreducible) cumulant functions. The approach is illustrated by deriving the dynamical scaling laws for the order parameter relaxation far from equilibrium and the spinodal decomposition.
