The photo-induced inclusive reaction r+p+π + anything is investigated in the beam fragmentation region on the basis of the Regge pole exchange model. It is shown that the π-Reggeon exchange mechanism reproduces both the absolute magnitude and the shape of the experimental cross section satisfactorily. This mechanism also well explains the observed azimuthal angular correlation between the produced π^- and the linear polarization vector of the incident photon.
