On the basis of Sugawara's current algebraic postulates, we construct a quantum field theory, whereby the axial current is expressed in terms of the vector current and a pseudoscalar field. We find a definite form of energy momentum tensor and C=f_π^2 for the coefficient of Schwinger's term. We also show that a conventional chiral effective Lagrangian gives the same expression for energy momentum tensor as the one derived from Sugawara's current theory, provided that a certain limiting procedure is applied to the former case.
