Inclusive processes pp⇾Δ^<++>X, π^-p⇾Δ^<++>X, pp⇾pX and π^-p⇾pX are investigated in the proton fragmentation region and at small momentum transfer ∣t∣ on the basis of Reggeon exchange. For the first two reactions a simple π-exchange mechanism explains the observed cross section successfully both in shape and in absolute magnitude in -1.0≲x≲-0.6. For the other reactions some resonance decay effects, such as pp⇾Δ__<↳pπ>X, as well as π exchange are significant at high energies and the observed cross section are well saturated by their sum in -0.85≲x≲-0.5. Double counting in a "duality" scheme is never committed in adding these effects because of G-parity conservation. The reason for the significance of π exchange in these processes is also explained in this scheme.
