A Regge parametrization proposed in a previous paper is examined extensively for πN scattering and is shown to lead to an overall nice fit to the experimental data. The Regge cuts due to absorption and double-Regge-exchange corrections are included. The proposed parametrization is based on an idea of very strong exchange degeneracy (VSED) with helicityconserving no-compensation mechanism and on the violation of this primordial VSED scheme by the effects of fixed poles at nonsense wrong signature point. In particular it is shown that the relatively small amount of these fixed-pole effects is sufficient to reproduce all the desired features of πN scattering.
