It is shown that there exists a certain condition for the normal-parity part of the P+V reaction amplitudes, where P and V stand for the pseudoscalar and vector mesons, respectively. This condition (the non-zero mass gauge condition) comes from the helicity constraint and is an analogue of the gauge condition for the real photon reaction amplitudes. The argument is extended to any reaction that involves spin-0 and spin-1 mesons (of arbitrary parities) as external particles, e.g. V+Baryon→Baryon+P. The non-zero mass gauge condition has practical importance especially in the Veneziano model: Discussions in connection with this model are also presented.
