Field-Strength Formulation and Duality Transformation of Non-Abelian Gauge Theory

Adopting the gauge A_μ^ax_μ=0, the field-strength representation of the generating functional Z for non-Abelian gauge theory is constructed and the duality transformation of Z is performed. In the resultant dual theory, the "dual potential" B_μ^a obeys again the condition B_μ^ax_μ=0. It is found that, in the weak-coupling (small-g) limit, the theory is approximately self-dual, whereas for the large-g region the resultant form of the dual theory is such that it makes a kind of strong-coupling (1/g) expansion actually feasible.
