From the viewpoint of the Regge theory with absorption corrections, the plausibility of Bessel-function model is examined for the case of near-forward _<π>N charge exchange scattering at high energies. As concerns the imaginary part of the helicity-flip amplitude, the approximate equivalence of Regge theory and dual absorptive model (in their dependence on both s and t) is confirmed. This may be regarded as a verification of the duality ansatz combined with the observed approximate constancy (~1 fm) of effective impact parameters of _<π>N resonating channels (the "generalized Ogawa's rule" named by the Kyushu group). For the helicity-nonflip amplitude, a possibility of existence of an additional Bessel component with smaller radius R~0.3 fm is suggested. A rough model-amplitude based on this "two-component peripherality" is given and compared with experiments.
