Geometrical Duality, Effective Regge Trajectory and the Equivalent High Energy Models

On the basis of a geometrical picture of duality and an extended version of an effective Regge trajectory, a new Reggeized geometrical model is proposed which is formally equivalent to the conventional Regge pole model with a nonsense wrong signature zero as far as the structure of zeros is concerned. Our model combines the advantages of both the conventional Regge pole model and the strong absorption model. In particular, a dip is caused by the nonsense wrong signature zero of the "effective" Regge vector or tensor exchange amplitude with a net s-channel helicity flip ν or equivalently by the zero of the Bessel-like function "J_ν(b_r√<-t>)", where b_r is the impact parameter of the direct channel "effective" peripheral resonances. The main features of the differential cross sections and the polarizations for the processes π^±p→π^±p, π^-p→π^0n and π^-p→ηn are successfully explained by taking b_r≈ fm. A plausible theoretical argument on the properties of the "effective" trajectory is also given.
