Possible Existence of S-Wave Virtual States in Meson-Baryon Scattering Amplitudes

We point out the possible existence of S-wave virtual states in some meson-baryon scattering amplitudes assuming the usual analyticity in the complex energy plane for scattering amplitudes. These S-wave virtual states may develop into bound states when the related interaction strengthes vary in a suitable way. If we assign these S-wave virtual states to some unitary multiplet, we naturally obtain a unitary octet provided that the spinparity of Y_0^* (1405 Mev) is 1/2^-. The Y_0^* may be assigned not to a unitary singlet but to an isosinglet of this unitary octet. Other seven members of this octet may be the abovementioned S-wave virtual states.
