Inhibitory Effect of Sophoraflavanone H in Sophora mooracrotiana BETH ex BAKER, a Crude Drug, on Lipid Peroxidation in Vitro

Possible inhibitory effects were investigated for a flavanone, sophoraflavanone H from Sophora mooracrotiana BETH ex BAKER on lecithine peroxidation by superoxide anion, generation of superoxide anion by xanthine-xanthine oxidase system, and iron ion-induced lipid peroxidation of mice brain homogenate in vitro. Sophoraflavanone H inhibited lecithine peroxidation, generation of superoxide anion and iron ion-induced lipid peroxidation. These results demonstrated that sophoraflavanone H have inhibitory effects against oxidative stresses.
