Antioxidative Effects of Daidzein and Daidzin, Isoflavonoids in Astragali Radix, on Lipid Peroxidation of Mice Brain Homogenate by Copper in Vitro

The antioxidative effects with daidzein and daidzin, isoflavonoids in Astragali Radix, were investigated on lipid peroxidation of brain homogenate by copper in vitro. Daidzein and daidzin had inhibitory effects on lipid peroxidation, while the inhibitory effect of daidzein was stronger than that of daidzin. The present results demonstrated that daidzein and daidzin have the antioxidative effects against oxidative stress such as copper-induced lipid peroxidation in vitro.
