Nonexistence of Bounded Solutions of Some Linear Evolution Equation with Periodic Forcing Term

We deal with the initial-boundary value problem (IBVP) for a linear evolution equation ∂^2_tu+(-∂^2_x)^pu=f (x, t), where f is 2π/ξ-periodic in t. We shall show that IBVP has a time-unbounded solution for a class of the forcing terms f. We construct the period 2π/ξ and after then construct the class of f which are represented by lacunary Fourier series, using the convergents of the continued fraction of ξ.
