Established human gastric cancer cells (MK 92 cells) which would be devoid of contaminating host cells were selected and the presence or absence of immunoglobulin G-Fc receptors on the cells was investigated, by using indirect immunofluorescent staining procedure. It was found that MK 92 cells bound with aggregated human IgG and Fc fragment of human IgG, not binding with F(ab')_2 fragment of human IgG. These results suggest that MK 92 cells have IgG-Fc receptors on their surfaces, supporting our previous proposal that human malignant solid tumor cells have the capacity to produce immunoglobulin G-Fc receptors.
