In order to obtain information to help settle the question of identity of IgG-Fc receptor bearing cells in the tumor mass, an established human neuroblastoma cell line (NB-1) which would be devoid of contaminating host lymphoid cells was selected and the presence or absence of the receptors on the cells was investigated, by using indirect immunofluorescent staining procedure. It was found that NB-1 cells bound with aggregated human IgG and Fc fragment of human IgG, not binding with F(ab')_2 fragment of human IgG. These results suggest that NB-1 cells possess IgG-Fc receptor producing activity and the possible implications of these were briefly discussed.
