The extraction of vanadium(III, IV, V) with 0.01–0.1 mol dm<SUP>−3</SUP> acetylacetone in such nonpolar organic solvents as heptane, benzene, and chloroform has been investigated at pH 1–7 under a nitrogen atmosphere. The extraction constant, the partition coefficient, and the stability constant for the vanadium(III) and vanadium(IV) chelate were determined. Vanadium(V) was found to have been extracted as the vanadium(IV) chelate with reduction.
