• Compounds of formula Cu(XCH<SUB>2</SUB>COO)<SUB>2</SUB>·<I>n</I>ACl (A=NH<SUB>4</SUB>, CH<SUB>3</SUB>NH<SUB>3</SUB>, (CH<SUB>3</SUB>)<SUB>2</SUB>NH<SUB>2</SUB>, (CH<SUB>3</SUB>)<SUB>4</SUB>N and X=F, Br) have been prepared, and characterized by magnetic susceptibility and IR spectroscopy measurements. Factors affecting the magnetic moments of copper(II) salts of monosubstituted alkanoic acids are discussed.
