The adducts listed in the title have been prepared, and their trimeric nature confirmed on the basis of elemental analysis and IR and electronic spectra. The magnetic properties of the MnCl<SUB>2</SUB> and NiCl<SUB>2</SUB> adducts have been analyzed in terms of a linear trimer model.
