ESR or ENDOR spectra were observed for the 2,6-di-<I>t</I>-butyl-4-methyl-, 4-ethyl-, 4-isopropyl-, and 4-cyclohexylphenoxyl radicals. From the analyses of the temperature dependence in β-proton splittings, the energy barriers to internal rotation of the alkyl group were estimated.
