ENDOR observations were carried out for several triphenylmethyl derivatives with <I>ortho</I>- or <I>para</I>-methoxy substituents. The alteration of the spin-density distribution caused by steric hindrance, in particular, due to the low symmetrical substitution, was investigated. Using a revised MO parameter proposed by Kulkarni, McLachlan MO calculations were carried out and the twisting angles of the hindered phenyl groups are estimated.
