Enhanced Transmission Surface Plasmon Resonance Signal via Growth of Gold Nanoparticles on Grating Surface

In this work, we explore the hybrid surface plasmon resonance coupling effects, i.e. propagating surface plasmon resonance on gold grating surface and localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR) of gold nanoparticles (AuNPs), to enhance the transmission surface plasmon resonance intensity. The gold nanoparticles were synthesized by alcohol reduction method. We monitor the growth of gold nanoparticles on gold film surface by using UV-visible spectrometer. The density of gold nanoparticles on gold grating surface and the size of gold nanoparticles increased with increasing the immersion time. The T-SPR spectrum showed the strong and narrow SPR peak which located between 650-700 nm. The layer-by-layer system was used to prove the enhancement phenomena of the developed system.
