A Method for Vibration Resistance Optimization of Irregular-shape Beam Structure Basing on FEM and SQP(Session 6 -Fundamentals-)

Contact system with irregular-shape beam structure is applied in hermetically sealed electromagnetic relay widely. The optimization method basing on finite element method (FEM) and sequential quadratic programming (SQP) was developed in this paper, to obtain the optimal anti-vibration performance of contact system. The dynamic characteristics were solved by using finite element commercial software MSC.Patran/Nastran, thus the key dimension parameters were determined by contrasting their influence on vibration resistance. Finally, the solution of optimal anti-vibration characteristics for contact system was obtained with the SQP method. The whole optimization algorithm was programmed in Matlab, meanwhile the target function was calculated by the secondary development of MSC.Patran/Nastran. Example optimization results show great value in the vibration resistance design of contact system.
