Automobile horn is a key part in automobile security system owing to its function of alarming. The dynamic characteristics of automobile horn contact are analyzed through the simulation and experimental method. Furthermore, the periodicity principle of electrical and dynamic parameters, and the contact load type of are obtained. The arcing process is obtained based on high speed camera and the relationship between contact position and arc variation is quantitatively obtained. The voltage and current of the horns under different working times life tests are recorded. The decay principle of horn electrical parameters in its life cycle is studied. The conclusions in this paper are of great value to improve the reliability and electrical life of the automotive horn.
