The volumes of oxygen gas evolved in the decomposition of hydrogen peroxide by the catalysis of manganese, copper or palladium were measured by means of Lunge's nitrometer to determine these catalysers. The volumes of oxygen evolved in a given time were all linear against the amount of manganese, coper or palladium under a certain condition. Applying these relations, the determination of 20〜100γ of manganese. 100〜400γ of copper and 50〜400γ of palladium could be made under the same condition.
