A tablet made of KCl powder mixed with PbCl_2 powder shows the 272 nm absorption band which is observed in KCl:Pb^<2+> single crystals. The present experiment reveals:(A)the absorption coefficient, μ, depends on the PbCl_2 concentration and original power size;(B)when the tablet is smashed and reproduced repeatedly for for N times, the intensity and the shape of the absorption band depend remarkably on the PbCl_2 concentration C(wt%)and N;(C)the above mentioned results can be simply formulated as a function of N, C and the original maximum grain size r_<max>(cm).This formula predicts the behaviors of Pb^<2+> ions in the course of the tablet preparation.
