Previously the author reported that, when KCl crystal with the impurity Pb is obtained by the rapid cooling from the melt, natural cleavage leads the crystal into pieces, in which the edge lengths and optical absorption coefficient at 272 mμ band depend upon the cooling velocity. In this paper, the present model is theoretically proposed in order to explain in appearance the above experiments, that is, (i) the thermal stress induces certain defects corresponding to the above absorption, and (ii) for the one dimensional crystal, a certain type of cleavage under a certain fixed distribution of defects leads the above distribution of the edge lengths.
