On the previously studied cleaved surfaces of KCl single crystal grown by a rapid cooling of the melt, subgrains are bounded by visual step lines. In the present paper, the local structure around the step lines is studied by X-ray Laue method, and it is observed that subgrains are composed of two types of micro-grains; one fairly perfect and the other somewhat imperfect. Imperfection in the subgrains must not independent of the cooling rate as well as of the direction of crystal growth and of the normal direction to the isothermal surface. It is also noted that the assembly of remarkablly different micro-grains may be one of macroscopic defectcolonies already discussed.
