Surface Acoustic Wave Propagation Characteristics under the Coded Electrodes of Surface Acoustic Wave Matched Filters

Surface acoustic wave (SAW) matched filters are advantageous for use as correlators with high data transmission rates and short spreading sequences. We have examined the second-order effect problem in the case of reducing the insertion loss of SAW matched filters, and proposed a new direct time response calculation analysis of the SAW matched filter. Using this method, we can directly calculate the signal time response, the directivity of the coded electrodes and the propagation and reflection properties of SS-modulated SAW signals. It is also possible to calculate the dynamic responses of the programmable SAW matched filters in the case of switching before the time duration of their impulse responses. We analyzed the decreasing slope of the impulse response, which is a problem of low-loss SAW matched filters, and found that the slope is caused by an electrical delay at the common bus bar, which can be corrected by connecting the coded electrodes to each other by capacitors.
